For years, 5% Nutrition didn't sell a protein powder. That changed when we realized we could offer a powder that honored Rich and his vision. That vision included the philosophy of consuming real food first. It also included the fact that we already had a real food carbohydrate blend, so why not make a real food protein powder? So we formulated the exclusive 5% Nutrition Protein Blend -  a combination of protein sources that come from real food only. 

What Is The 5% Protein Blend?

First off, it’s not a single blend used across all our protein supplements. Each formula uses the real-food protein sources that work best for that particular product. Let’s check out each real food protein source!

Chicken Protein

Chicken protein is not common in a protein powder. Yet it is a high-quality slow-digesting complete protein source. Plus it’s naturally high in B vitamins, zinc, iron, potassium, sodium, and selenium. Also, it’s low in fat and carbohydrates. Using a premium protein source like this is yet another example of 5% innovation. 

Whole Egg Powder

Before whey, egg protein was the gold standard. Whole egg protein is a medium-digesting protein, giving lifters the benefits of longer-lasting protein. Egg also has a very high PER of 3. 9 (higher than whey). Its BV, Net Protein Utilization, and Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score all compare well with whey.(1)

Bovine Collagen Peptides

Collagen is a protein that’s a primary building block of muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, and skin. As you get older, it's important to add it to your supplement program. 5% uses only 100% beef collagen.(2)

Chickpea Protein

Chickpeas are an excellent protein source that contain several vitamins and minerals. It’s also another medium-digesting protein, like whole egg powder.(3)

Almond Protein Powder

Pea Protein

Pea protein is a high-quality plant protein from yellow split peas. In plant protein products, pea is almost always combined with rice protein. This creates a complete protein because amino acids may be low in pea but not rice, and vice-versa.(4)

Rice Protein

As noted, pea and rice are almost always combined to create a complete, quality protein. This approach guarantees that every 5% protein source is effective.
